Frequently Asked Questions

How do I operate the lift?

On the electric cords coming from the motor is a control box. Look at the face. You will see “up” and “down” .Push the lever in the direction you want the lift to go.

How often should I perform maintenance on the system?

Semi-annually or when you hear squeaking.

What should I use to correct the squeaking?

A spray on lubricant is good for the pulleys. Regular or Marine grease is good for the pipe sleeves and the “bull gear” (large sprocket on the motor plate).

Is it okay for me to put the boat in the lift backwards?

Absolutely not! The boat usually weighs more towards the rear. The lift beams should be located so there is an equal amount of weight distributed between the front an rear beams. When the boat is put in backwards, often too much weight is on the front beam and it can cause cradle failure. IT has happened!

How do I know how far to put the cradle in the water to launch/load the boat?

This is trial and error, usually. It depends on the wave action. But, once you can move the boat in and out freely that is a good indicator. After you get the level determined, mark the PVC pipe at the water level and you will know when it is correct no matter what the water level is.
